Settling in to Cornish life

Its been a while since I last posted and that is mainly because I have been very busy moving house!

On 30th June we headed down to a wedding in Essex and then we came across to Cornwall after that. To be honest, this probably wasn’t the greatest idea we’d ever had as it involved a lot of travelling in a short space of time but nevertheless that’s what we did. Our cottage was supposed to be finished by the time we moved down but it has had so many setbacks and sadly we still don’t know when it will be finished! We are hoping it will be sooner rather than later as we are all squashed in to a few rooms at my mum and dad’s as they are having major renovations to their house! Not to mention most of our stuff is packed away in boxes in the garage!

Practicalities aside, we are really enjoying our new life in Cornwall. The girls and I have already made connections with local playgroups and are enjoying exploring what this part of the world has to offer. We have definitely been in holiday mode and have enjoyed beach trips, wandering around coastal towns and of course delightful Cornish food! Cornwall has definitely captured our hearts.

With that in mind, I have decided to start a new series on my blog called ‘Kid-friendly Kernow’ (Kernow is Cornwall in Cornish – yes we have our own language down here!!). I am going to be reviewing restaurants, beaches with children in mind – particularly focusing on babies and double buggy access, but obviously I can use my imagination as to whether things would be suitable for older kids too!

Here are a few photos of our first few weeks here.
